Lexis LaRue Headshot

Professionally trained in Theatre Arts and Dance, Lexis holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles. Her favorite roles include The Cloud Gatherer, Basket in The Great Cross Country Race, Teiresias in Antigone, and Mairead in The Lieutenant of Inishmore.

She has studied dance under Ardie Bryant, the innovator of Modern Jazz Tap, and Frit & Frat Fuller, Jazz Dance choreographers. She has also studied Viewpoints with Mary Overlie, Creative Drama with Dr. Pam Dunne, Director of the Drama Therapy Institute of LA, and Dance Theatre with Rachel Rosenthal. She honors them for their impact on her life, all of them masters and innovators of their art forms.

She has performed at the Museum of Natural History of Los Angeles County, in LA public schools, the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Fullerton, The John Lion New Plays Festival, the Nugget/Nor Cal Fringe Festival, and the Nevada Theatre, among others. Recent film credits include “Clean Up Protocol” and “The Tunnel of Bling” with Michael Berryman, both currently in production. 

Lexis loves Physical Theatre, Commedia dell’arte, New Plays, and Children’s Creative Drama. As a performance artist, she is an actor, dancer, singer, director, writer, choreographer and visual artist. She enjoys working both onstage and in film, and lives in a tiny house in Nevada City with her German Shepherd, Echo. Lexis is excited to be teaching Dance and Acting at McLaughlin Studios.
